Welcome to MoblIT.Net (www.moblit.net) - my name is Alon

This site is currently under development, but I am intending to populate it with details about me, as well as details of some of the interesting projects I've worked on (or am currently busy with).

About the name:

MoblIT - pronounced 'Mobile IT' or 'Mobility'.

This website was originally registered when I was working with Andre Maas, my former boss at Debtpack, while we were working on a mobile solution to run on a Nokia S40 handset communicating with a web application. I came up with the name to indicate that we were starting to specialise in Mobile solutions, or enabling IT solutions to be mobile.

This website is running DotNetNuke (DNN).Why? Because I love DNN and it is so much simpler to use an (amazing) existing framework as a basis for Web Development than starting from scratch, and DNN has a wonderful, mature, ecosystem of modules providing many of the common functions required for a Content Management System (CMS). This basically makes it easy to create pages and content for a website. DNN Also provide a solid API on which to develop custom modules to extend the functionality of the website / CMS and provide your own, custom functionality.

I've been following DNN since the early days, and have played around with the creation of websites etc. since then. It is only recently (2021) that I've actually started to delve into the development of DNN modules, developing some custom functionality for commercial purposes (more on this to come).
